Abstract

We wonder about the so called “revival” of political philosophy, on its remarkable bloom in the present academic scene, not in order to summarize its developments and contents, but as a phenomenon: something that happens within philosophy and human sciences, and that occurs altogether with  a retraction of the “saviour” content of politics, and in conditions of scarce possibilities of challenging the system. Perhaps analyzing the manner in which these displacements have taken place (i.e. the debate of North American liberalism and its echo in the European philosophy) may allow to glimpse other meanings –less stimulating– of the rehabilitated philosophy; meanings that keep its speech captive of the process of authoritarian relegitimation of the new world order. Perhaps this exercise may allow us to approach a position from which we can watch what philosophy, finally, bears to return.
