Abstract

This is a two level reading document (text and footnotes) which deals both with conflict and harmony. It approaches contemporary reality from integrative visions of antiquity, analyzing conflict from the perspective of duality as its basic concept, with special reference to the horizontal/vertical relations of power and a symbolic approach to conflict that pretends to enlighten its resolution or transformation. An etymological study is undertaken in regards the terms of mediatio, medicatio, meditatio, and its common root oriented to the recovery of equilibrium in the social, psychophysical and spiritual areas, respectively, in a philosophically oriented proposition. The study ends with an aproximation to metamorphosis starting from the non-violent martial art known as Aikido, integrated to the foresaid investigation.
