Abstract

From a perspective that takes place in Ivan Illich´s ideas about the notion of proportionality, this article refers to the idea of limits or thresholds as a necessary element for the reconstruction of a multicultural world. But, also inspired by Illich, it takes distance from cientific-professional practices of production of statements that have nothing to do with popular practices. From outside and from the top is not possible to reconstruct “a world where many worlds can coexist”. This doesn´t mean that the search for new social paradigm is something simple. Nonetheless, the search is so deep that leads us even to reintroduce the experience of sacredness, as described by Mircea Eliade in traditional societies, as an epistemic principle for that “other” possible world.
