Abstract

The article discusses the categories of identity and crisis in the historical reality of Latin America -in its cultural and political expressions- to from there criticize the concept of universality of modernity. Then discusses the concept of globalization from postmodern or postindustrial society, to conclude -following  primarily Zubiri`s thinking-  with ethical proposals from Unity in Diversity, which would allow us as a region to integrate without degrading outselves in the deep transformations of contemporary world.
