The author covers the events and episodes that form a United States prior to September 11, whose government, in the historic words of Martin Luther King, is "the world's largest supplier of violence", to which Chomsky adds that the equipment (industrial-banking-political-military) governing U.S. is the most powerful terrorist organization in world history. But for himself he lived the dream of a sleepwalking giant who dreamed to be God in the artificial paradise of technology and consumption. Beautiful dream, but unsustainable. September 11th that bursts the bubble in which the great somnambulist floated. The dream is awake. For better or for worse, we are all brothers and sisters need to wake up.
