Abstract

This article addresses the effects of the women's mobilization process at the national level post-2015 in Argentina on the political representation of youth in the subnational legislative arena. Qualitative methods based on interviews with three young women provincial legislators from Córdoba, Neuquén, and Santa Fe were made. The analysis focused on the reconfigurations produced by the dynamics of youth politicization in the areas of institutional political representation; the particularities of the experiences of young women in legislatures and party organizations; the agendas on youth issues and relations with youth organizations. The work reflects on the tensions produced around two dimensions that are central to understanding the relationships between political representation, youth, and gender: Youth Quota/Generational Perspective and Parity/Gender Perspective.
