Abstract

This paper aims to contribute to the analysis of the socio-political structure of the Latin American re-democratization process, focusing on the impact of collective memories, the paradigm of democratic governability and the neoliberal modernization. Specifically, it analyzes the impact of such factors on Latin American reality and its consequences on social action, that is, triggering social emergence and mobilizations in some cases, or deactivation and demobilization in others.
