SOCIAL WORK: PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE AND APPLIED SOCIAL RESEARCH. BETWEEN PRACTICISM AND THE HISTORICAL-CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

The work, first and in a general way, deals with the meaning and meaning that is given to social research and professional practice in Social Work. In the second place, it raises reflections that allow noticing the need to do research from more integrating and comprehensive designs (Falla, 2009). In the third term, and in a certain way, the historical-critical debate that in the profession has been about the generation of knowledge is collected; this, on the one hand, emphasizing the search for specificity, which is related to practicality and, on the other, for the arguments raised from the historical-critical option.
