Abstract

This work aims to analyze the phones and phonemes of Aymara spoken in Chile. Based on a sample of 17,938 sounds of this language, the goal is to propose an inventory based on Poblete and Salas (1997) and through the realization of acoustic-statistical studies, spectrographic analysis, with special attention to the vitality of the phonemes. The results indicate that all phonemes are phonetically realized as expected, that the variations agree with what has been reported in previous studies, and that, in phonological terms, the language remains highly vital.
