Abstract

The author argues that the growing need for security is rooted in a general shift in the way we perceive reality, from a crisis of meaning as a consequence of the multiple deaths of projects and ideas. On the other hand, economic growth without equity has become a source of insecurity. However, it is stated that there is a cultural construction of fear, which is then managed from security devices. It finally explains the transition from national security to citizen security.
