Abstract

The following text brings up a discussion in the theoretical and empirical fields, on the relationship between the traditional populations and nature in the context of Pantanal farms around Corumbá and Ladário. The idea is to communicate partial results of the research project, on knowledge, culture and the representations produced in the context of these populations in the process of the appropriation of natural resources. Thus, the aim has been to show how these human groups think and act in relation to the “pantanero” territory. Finally, the discussion is about the possibilities of local development in the context of these traditions.
