The author explains adolescent consumption by its reaffirming sense at this stage of life, analyzes the impact they hace on the nervous system, posits that people tend to self-regulate their intake, distinguishes abuse of drug from dependence and links this to the context of teenage life, particularly with poor youngsters. Finally he addresses the issue of rehabilitation and debates about the social context in its strategy towards young consumers.
